WOLFRAM
SCHEFFEL
Wolfram Scheffel – born in 1957 – studied at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin and graduated as a master student. This was soon followed by a teaching assignment in intaglio (etching) at the Hochschule der Künste, Berlin. Wolfram Scheffel was also a lecturer and held a teaching post at the Institut der Künste of PH Freiburg until 2020.
Wolfram Scheffel's landscapes emanate a fascinating aesthetic. He belongs to the artistic tradition of travel, as practiced earlier by Albrecht Dürer or Paul Klee. The result is unique visual worlds of very different places. From the Black Forest to Venice. His individual painting style and his artisanal printmaking leave a special impression on the viewer.
The Himmelreich collection includes numerous hand-signed and limited original woodcuts by Wolfram Scheffel, particularly from the 2000s.
